The SCSA certification is for system administrators tasked with performing essential system administration procedures on the Solaris™ Operating Environment (Solaris OE) and technical application support staff responsible for administering a networked server running on the Solaris OE. This is a performance-based course designed upon job-related tasks a professional must perform.

Solaris SCSA Training Camp: Exam Track
Certification candidates must pass two certification exams to earn SCSA certification. The exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise by evaluating overall comprehension of the Solaris Operating Environment.

The goal of this seven-day accelerated program for Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) Level 1 is to provide professionals with the basic hardware, software, and networking skills necessary to function in an entry level information technology position. This is a performance-based course designed upon the job-related tasks a professional must perform.

To complete Linux Professional Institute Level 1 Certification (LPIC-1), candidates must successfully complete two exams (delivered during the program):

   * The 117-101 exam (RPM or DPKG Version) tests basic capabilities in these areas:
         o Hardware & Architecture
         o Linux Installation & Package Management
         o GNU & Unix commands
         o Devices, Linux Filesystems, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard
         o The X Window System
   * The 117-102 exam tests basic capabilities in these areas:
         o Kernel
         o Boot, Initialization, Shutdown and Runlevels
         o Printing
         o Documentation
         o Shells, Scripting, Programming, and Compiling
         o Administrative Tasks
         o Networking Fundamentals
         o Networking Services
         o Security

The CompTIA Linux+ certification validates the knowledge and abilities of individuals with at least six months of practical Linux experience. Students seeking Linux+ certification are required to take a single CompTIA Linux+ examination, which measures:

   * Planning and Implementation (4%)
   * Installation (12%)
   * Configuration (15%)
   * Administration (18%)
   * System Maintenance (14%)
   * Troubleshooting (18%)
   * Identify, Install and Maintain System Hardware (19%)
